The day was as quiet as planned. After breakfast we tried snorkelling off the beach which turned out to be very good compared to the other end of the bay, though still nowhere near the top ranks we’ve been fortunate enough to see. There was plenty of living coral here, and pipefish, and schools and schools of all kinds of other fish. My favourite sighting was a large clown fish with a green plastic bottle cap in its mouth which was clearly quite important as it dropped it once or twice but always caught it again.
In the afternoon the sand wasp was spotted again, this time bringing a grasshopper it had killed (or perhaps stunned) carefully into its burrow. This was followed by another one, though of course it’s hard to tell if the wasp was same. Perhaps it was a potluck.
